Growing Up

Well that might sound not-too-smart but I am all abuzz to share that I was on my own for a whole day, for the first time in my life!!! Now beat this, I love adventure. Never even hesitated once jumping off a cliff to set off for a flight while paragliding for the first time. Never had a hitch to look an untamed tiger in its eye. You can very well try it in a zoo, but not on a real jungle safari where nothing separates you from the tiger staring from a distance of just 10 meters. (I dared to do that as I was mounted on an elephant and was considerably out of reach for the tiger). You know that rush of adrenaline..., will simply do anything for it.

A positive belief in paranormal stuff and a fear of the unknown, unexplainable would keep me up even if I tried to sleep alone at home in dark (also known nyctophobia). It wasn't that bad after all. The only difference this time was the excitement of having proved myself self-sufficient kept me up most of the time. Never mind, the sense of accomplishment at having overpowered my fear is what matters at the end of the day (night in this case). As this is rightly quoted in the Litany of Fear

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

When the author boasts of her courage, temerity and hardihood that blanketed her while looking straight into the eyes of a tiger during a safari, never get carried away by her audaciousness and intrepidness. I am just shooting back another question at this daring adventure-loving wild life explorer. What if a cobra would have come on the way? Holy god, I am sure, she would have collapsed on the spot. But yes, my applauses for her for admitting her fear towards darkness. Cool. But I also never hesitate to admit that Deepti Ahuja Balani is someone who is pasionate about adventurous games (Well, I have no idea about the paragliding incident. So no comments on that). But yes, she may do even that if is on high spirits. Anyways, the write-up is really enticing. It even though has shown a shyness to revolve around something, has succeeded in creating a feel inside the reader. I would also add up that it is more like jotting than some creative stuff.I am also looking forward for more stuffs from the budding poet and author, who is also my good friend.
